Pull the tables out of a PDF and into an Excel spreadsheet (XLSX). Bank statements, price lists, timetables and reports exported to PDF usually still contain their table text, and this tool lines it up into rows and columns you can sort, filter and calculate with.
How to convert PDF to Excel
- Drop your PDF on the page or choose it from your device.
- If the PDF is a scan or a photo, turn on OCR so the text can be recognized first.
- Select Convert to Excel and download the XLSX file.
Why no upload matters
Tables in PDFs are often financial: statements, invoices, payroll, budgets. This converter finds and extracts them in your browser, so the PDF and the spreadsheet stay on your device and nothing is uploaded.
What converts well
- PDFs created by software (exports from accounting tools, banking apps, Excel or Word), where the text is real text.
- Tables with clearly aligned columns, with or without grid lines.
- Several tables: each table found becomes its own sheet, named after its page (for example “Page 3” or “Page 3 (2)”).
Limits
- Tables are worked out from the position of the text. Merged cells, nested tables and cells that wrap over several lines can end up split or shifted.
- Cells are saved as text. To calculate with numbers, select the column in Excel and convert it to numbers.
- Scanned pages need OCR, which uses the language of this page (English) and depends on the scan quality.
- If no aligned table is found, the tool tells you so.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert a PDF table to Excel?
Drop the PDF on this page and select Convert to Excel. Each table found in the PDF becomes a sheet in the XLSX file.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The tables are detected and the spreadsheet is created in your browser, on your device.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes, with OCR turned on. Recognition runs on your device; clear, straight scans give the best results.
Why are my numbers stored as text?
The converter copies exactly what is written in the PDF, so every cell is text. In Excel, use Convert to Number on the column to calculate with it.
Will formatting such as colours and borders be kept?
No. Only the cell contents are extracted, not the styling of the table.
Can I open the file in Google Sheets or LibreOffice?
Yes. XLSX opens in Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc and Apple Numbers.
